I don't sculpt a figure exactly — I shape the clay until it feels like a body. A full, round lower belly carrying its own weight, and above it an upper body that leans away to one side, the way a torso settles into a hip when you stop holding yourself upright. The neck lifts and opens at the top, turning slightly, like a head looking off. She is soft, full, and a little off-balance — at ease, not posed.
Hand-built from beige high-fire stoneware. The surface is sand-textured and tactile, warm bone with faint ochre coming through where the clay catches the light — skin more than stone. Glazed on the inside, bare on the outside.
She belongs in a quiet, carefully considered interior, or with collectors drawn to work that holds a presence in the room.
Hand-built from coils and signed at the bottom. Small marks from the making may remain on the surface.
