About

Anastasia Babenko is a ceramic artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began working with clay in 2021 and established her home studio in 2022, developing a practice centered on hand-built sculptural ceramics — vessels, vases, and wall sculptures made using coiling and slab techniques.

Her work has been collected privately and integrated into interior design projects across the Bay Area. In 2026, a curated selection of her ceramic art objects was featured in the San Francisco Designer Showcase, with the installation highlighted in AD PRO and LUXE Interiors + Design. The pieces were integrated into a living room designed by Peruri Design Company, chosen to bring a grounding, organic presence to a contemporary architectural space.

She welcomes inquiries from collectors, interior designers, and galleries.

Artist Statement

My ceramic work centers on two themes: nature and the experience of the individual. I'm drawn to natural textures and flowing, organic forms, which often guide the surfaces and shapes of my pieces. At the same time, I reflect on the life of a single person and how individuality is shaped through time and experience. While ceramic objects may exist as part of a group, each piece holds its own presence and character. In this way, my vessels parallel the individuality of a person — each carrying traces of its own journey.

Clay feels like a natural extension of the ideas I explore. As a material that comes directly from the earth, it carries the textures and qualities of the natural world. It responds to touch, pressure, and movement, allowing forms to develop in an organic way. This process reflects both the formation of natural structures and the gradual shaping of an individual life.

I create ceramic art objects — vases, vessels, and wall sculptures — each hand-built using coiling or slab techniques. Surface and form develop through the process, allowing imperfections, textures, and natural clay finishes to remain visible, emphasizing the raw, tactile surface of the material.

My work reveals itself through close viewing, where texture, form, and surface become more noticeable. Entering a space as both vessel and sculpture, each piece interacts with its surroundings through its material presence. Within a group, every object maintains its own character.
