About

Anastasia Babenko is an American ceramic artist based is San Jose, CA. She started working with clay in 2021, and established her home studio in 2022.

As an artist, I explore the transformation and individuality of the human experience, drawing parallels with ceramic objects. While ceramics may belong to a group, each piece retains its distinctiveness, reflecting the uniqueness of every individual. Like people, each vessel carries the imprint of its journey, influences, and story.

I work with clay for its transformative nature, mirroring life’s ability to adapt and evolve under external pressures. This material’s responsiveness to touch, pressure, and intention embodies the essence of human growth.

I create ceramics such as vases, vessels, and wall decor, hand-built using coiling or slab techniques. Each piece celebrates imperfections, textures, and natural clay finishes, emphasizing the raw, tactile beauty of the material.

Designed to invite touch and close observation, my work integrates into spaces with sculptural elegance, grounding presence, and intriguing forms. Every piece enhances its environment while highlighting the individuality within us all.
